Highlights
ToggleWhy Vrindavan Aarti Timings Require Careful Planning
Vrindavan has over 5,000 temples – but its major temples do not all follow the same daily schedule. ISKCON opens its Mangala Aarti at 4:30 AM. Radha Raman’s first Aarti is at 5:30 AM in summer and 4:00 AM in winter. Banke Bihari – the most visited temple in Vrindavan – has no regular Aarti at all. Prem Mandir stays open through the afternoon when most other temples close. Nidhivan shuts before sunset without exception.
A pilgrim who arrives in Vrindavan without knowing these specific differences will, on their first day, arrive at a closed gate, miss the Mangala Aarti by 2 hours and attend a non-Aarti temple expecting a bell-and-lamp ceremony that does not happen there.
I am Gurudutt, founder of Experience My India, born and raised in Braj Bhoomi and guiding pilgrims since 2018. I have attended every Aarti in this guide dozens of times across both summer and winter schedules. In this guide you will find the complete Vrindavan Aarti timings for 2026, temple-by-temple schedules, the morning and evening sequence guides, Keshi Ghat Aarti timings and the ground-level realities that prevent wasted visits. Banke Bihari Temple Timings and Jhanki Darshan – No Aarti, No Bells
Banke Bihari Temple – the most visited temple in Vrindavan, established in 1864 by the Goswami lineage of Swami Haridas – is fundamentally different from every other major Vrindavan temple in one critical way: it has no regular daily Aarti.
Instead of Aarti, Banke Bihari follows the jhanki tradition – the priests periodically draw and open the curtain before the deity, giving devotees brief, intense glimpses of Lord Krishna. No bells, no conch shells, no lamps are used during the regular darshan. The only formal Aarti at Banke Bihari occurs once a year on Janmashtami at midnight.

Prem Mandir Aarti Timings and Fountain Show 2026
Prem Mandir (inaugurated 2012, ₹150 crore white marble construction) is Vrindavan’s most visually distinctive modern temple. Unlike Banke Bihari, Prem Mandir is open throughout the day with no long afternoon closure – and its famous musical fountain show is the most-attended single evening event in Vrindavan.

Vrindavan Evening Aarti Guide – Best Sequence
The Vrindavan evening circuit, built around the major Aartis from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, gives pilgrims access to 4 distinct Aarti experiences in a single evening.

Recommended evening sequence for most visitors: Banke Bihari opening darshan (5:30 PM) → Nidhivan (5:00 PM if visiting separately) → ISKCON Sandhya Aarti (6:30 PM) OR Keshi Ghat Aarti (6:30 PM) → Prem Mandir fountain show (7:00 PM)
Note: On any given evening, you must choose between ISKCON Sandhya Aarti and Keshi Ghat Aarti – they overlap at 6:30 PM. Experience My India recommends Keshi Ghat for its Yamuna atmosphere and Prem Mandir as the final evening highlight. Call +91-7302265809.
Keshi Ghat Aarti Timings – Vrindavan’s Yamuna Aarti
Keshi Ghat is the principal bathing ghat of Vrindavan on the Yamuna River – named after the demon Keshi whom Krishna defeated here. The Yamuna Aarti performed here daily is one of Vrindavan’s most atmospheric evening rituals.
| Detail | Information |
| Keshi Ghat Aarti timing | 6:30 PM daily (all seasons) |
| Duration | 30-45 minutes |
| Entry fee | Free |
| Best viewing position | Upper ghat steps – arrive 20-30 minutes before Aarti |
| Monsoon caution | Ghat steps become slippery July-September – wear rubber-soled footwear |

| Distance from Banke Bihari | 800 metres – 10-minute walk |
| Distance from Prem Mandir | 2.8 km – 15-20 minutes by e-rickshaw |
Keshi Ghat Aarti is more intimate than either the ISKCON evening sessions or the Prem Mandir fountain show – it is conducted at the water’s edge with the Yamuna reflecting the lamps. Experience My India includes the Keshi Ghat Aarti in all Vrindavan 2-day tour and longer tour packages.

What Nobody Tells You About Vrindavan Aarti Timings
After attending every Aarti in this guide hundreds of times since 2018 and coordinating 50,000+ pilgrimages, here is what I – Gurudutt, founder of Experience My India – share privately before every Vrindavan tour:
Banke Bihari has no regular Aarti – and most pilgrim guides do not make this clear. Every year, thousands of pilgrims arrive at Banke Bihari Temple specifically to attend an Aarti, expecting bells and lamps. The temple follows jhanki curtain darshan only. The only Aarti at Banke Bihari is the midnight ceremony on Janmashtami. This is the single most common disappointed expectation at Vrindavan’s most visited temple. Experience My India prepares every pilgrim for this before they enter the lane.
Radha Raman’s Mangala Aarti shifts by 90 minutes between summer (5:30 AM) and winter (4:00 AM). This is the largest seasonal Aarti time shift of any Vrindavan temple. Most websites list “around 5 AM” without noting the 90-minute difference. Arriving at 5:30 AM in January means you have missed the Mangala Aarti by 90 minutes. Experience My India confirms the exact current timing on the morning of every tour.
The ISKCON Sandhya Aarti (6:30 PM) and the Keshi Ghat Aarti (6:30 PM) run simultaneously. You cannot attend both in one evening without missing part of at least one. First-time visitors frequently try to do both and end up rushing to Keshi Ghat mid-Aarti or missing the ISKCON session. Experience My India assigns one Aarti per evening to each group and does not double-book. Call +91-7302265809 for advice on which to prioritise.
The Prem Mandir fountain show is cancelled on heavy rain evenings with no advance notice. No official cancellation announcement exists. The only reliable source of same-evening cancellation information is local knowledge – which is what Experience My India provides. Our guides carry live updates every evening and adjust the itinerary if needed.
Most Vrindavan temples close for 3-4 hours in the afternoon – but not at the same time. ISKCON closes at 12:45 PM and reopens at 4:00 PM. Banke Bihari closes at 12:00 PM (summer) and reopens at 5:30 PM – 5.5 hours. Prem Mandir barely closes at all (open from 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM). Planning your afternoon around Prem Mandir during the Banke Bihari closure is the most efficient use of Vrindavan’s midday hours.
Experience My India plans all Vrindavan Aarti circuits around these exact realities – Aarti timing confirmation, temple sequence and seasonal adjustments are standard in every tour. WhatsApp +91-7302265809.

Frequently Asked Questions — Vrindavan Aarti Timings
There is no VIP darshan system at Banke Bihari Temple – no paid VIP pass, no priority line and no ticketed access. Any agent offering a VIP pass is running a scam. The legitimate route to a close, calm darshan is to arrive at the opening time on a weekday morning – 7:45 AM in summer and 8:45 AM in winter. Experience My India arrives at opening time on every tour, giving groups the closest darshan available through timing alone – not any paid shortcut. Call +91-7302265809.
The best Vrindavan shopping items are: Mathura Peda (milk sweet – from Holi Gate shops in Mathura, not temple-front stalls), Radha Krishna idols in brass or marble (Loi Bazaar lane near Banke Bihari, ₹100-₹5,000), tulsi mala rosaries (₹50-₹500), poshak (deity clothes, ₹200-₹2,000), peacock feathers (₹10-₹50), ISKCON books in all languages (₹80-₹500) and Brij Bhumi itr (devotional perfume, ₹200-₹1,000). Experience My India includes a Loi Bazaar shopping stop in all 2-day packages – call +91-7302265809.
Banke Bihari Temple is least crowded in the first 60-75 minutes after the morning session opens – 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM in summer (March-October) and 8:45 AM to 10:00 AM in winter (November-February). Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings consistently have the lowest visitor numbers of the week. On these days at opening time, the lane is manageable and darshan is close and unhurried. Experience My India times all Banke Bihari visits for this window – call +91-7302265809.
Yamuna boat rides at Keshi Ghat in Vrindavan cost ₹50-₹100 per person for a shared boat (30-minute ride) and ₹300-₹700 for a private boat (families and groups, 4-6 persons). The most atmospheric timing for a boat ride is during the Keshi Ghat Aarti at 6:30 PM – the lit ghat steps reflect on the Yamuna water during the ceremony. Festival pricing (weekends, Holi, Janmashtami) is 30-50% higher. Experience My India pre-arranges boat rides at confirmed rates – call +91-7302265809.
The Mangala Aarti at ISKCON Vrindavan (Sri Krishna-Balaram Mandir) is performed daily at 4:30 AM. It is the earliest regular Aarti open to the public in Vrindavan and lasts approximately 20-25 minutes. The Mangala Aarti is considered the most spiritually charged daily ritual at ISKCON – attended primarily by resident devotees and overnight pilgrims. Experience My India includes the ISKCON Mangala Aarti in all overnight Vrindavan packages – call +91-7302265809.
The Prem Mandir musical fountain show runs daily at 7:00 PM to 7:45 PM (20 minutes). It features coloured lights and water jets choreographed to Ramayana and Radha-Krishna leela narratives. Entry is completely free. Arrive at the central courtyard by 6:30 PM to secure the best position near the main fountain. The show is cancelled on heavy rain evenings without advance notice. Experience My India confirms the show status each evening – call +91-7302265809 or plan with our guides.
No – Banke Bihari Temple has no regular daily Aarti. It follows the jhanki (curtain) darshan tradition where priests periodically draw and open the curtain before the deity, giving devotees glimpses of Lord Krishna. No bells, no conch shells and no lamps are used during the regular darshan sessions. The only formal Aarti at Banke Bihari is the midnight ceremony on Janmashtami – once a year. Experience My India explains this to every pilgrim before entering the temple – call +91-7302265809.
The Keshi Ghat Yamuna Aarti in Vrindavan is performed daily at 6:30 PM throughout the year – there is no seasonal timing shift at this ghat, unlike many Vrindavan temples. The Aarti lasts 30-45 minutes. Arrive 20-30 minutes early for the upper ghat terrace position. Tuesday to Thursday evenings are noticeably calmer than weekends. Experience My India includes the Keshi Ghat Aarti in all 2-day and longer Vrindavan packages – call +91-7302265809.
The best time to visit Vrindavan temples is between 7:45 AM (summer) or 8:45 AM (winter) and 11:30 AM on a Tuesday to Thursday morning – opening hours across major temples, manageable crowds, coolest part of the day. The Radha Raman Sandhya Aarti (evening Aarti) is performed at 7:00 PM in summer (April-October) and 6:30 PM in winter (November-March). It lasts approximately 30 minutes. Arrive 15-20 minutes early on weekday evenings and 35-40 minutes early on weekends. The Radha Raman Sandhya Aarti is one of the most intimate evening Aarti sessions in Vrindavan due to the small temple size and traditional worship format. Experience My India includes this Aarti in extended Vrindavan tour packages – call +91-7302265809.
