The structure features 84 wooden-style pillars in its traditional design, giving the building its popular name.

10. Raman Reti

Raman Reti is a stretch of soft, sacred sandy ground outside the main village where Krishna and His cowherd friends (sakhis) played as children. The sand here is considered so sacred that devotees traditionally roll in it (called “Raman Reti Lota” – literally rolling in the sands of play).

The act of rolling in Raman Reti is one of the most specifically Gokul-associated devotional practices in Braj – it does not occur at any other site – and reflects the intimacy of the devotional tradition here, where proximity to Krishna’s childhood ground is an act of surrender.

11. Raman Bihariji Mandir

A peaceful temple adjacent to the Raman Reti grounds, dedicated to the playful (Raman) form of Krishna. The temple’s location next to the sand grounds gives it a natural complementarity – darshan and then sitting quietly at the sandy grounds.

12. Moni Baba Ashram
