The Keshi Ghat Aarti is at 6:30 PM year-round – not “around 6:00 PM” as most travel sites state. Many travel articles and tour descriptions say “the Aarti starts around 6:00 PM.” This creates a significant problem in winter when visitors arrive at 5:45 PM to find the Aarti has not started and then leave at 6:00 PM thinking they missed it. The correct time is 6:30 PM, every day, every season. Experience My India confirms this time on the morning of every tour.
The boat ride price “₹100 per person” is a shared boat price – and shared boats mean sitting with strangers and following the boatman’s circuit. If your group wants to position the boat for the Aarti at a specific spot on the river, you need a private boat (₹400-₹600 for a full boat, 4-6 people).
